Job Seeker Communication Quick Tips

Here are a couple quick tips for all you job seekers. These simple steps (if you haven't done them already) help strengthen your communication with potential employers. The key is to be reachable for the opportunity you have been wanting, you don't want to miss out!

1. Voice Mail Box - Make sure you have one set up and ready to receive messages (make sure it is not full).  Take the time to have a good voice message welcome; this gives employers the confirmation that it is your correct number and shows that you are managing it.

2. Email - Have an email set up for professional use. Your email address should have a professional name. Make sure to check this email regularly and sign up for email alerts of job openings in your field.
*Additional Quick Tip: Email an Word format attachment of your resume to yourself so that you always have it in your inbox and ready to be sent!

3. Call/Email Responding - With every call or email you get, make sure to follow-up. Even if it is just providing information, give the employer a call back or email response to let them know you received the message and are on the same page.

4. Touching Base - If it has been awhile, don't be forgotten! Check in with your contact and see if there is anything you can do or any positions that fit what you are seeking. This keeps you fresh in their minds and might broaden your profile.

Good luck on your job hunt!
