Due your homework ahead of time so you don't get caught by the cold weather. Here are four easy winter weather tips that you can do to be ready for Ol' Man Winter:
1. Purchase Ahead - Water, batteries, flash lights, canned/no-cook food, sand/kitty litter for drive ways and any other items that will enhance your home safety.
2. Stay In the Know - Make sure to be aware of any weather warnings. You can have updates sent to your phone or email, load and check a weather app, listen regularly to the radio, or like a local news provider's Facebook page.
3. Conserve Heat - Take time to ensure that your living space is well insulated. It cost to generate heat and you don't want to loose it! If you have single-pane windows especially, consider sealing or blocking them.
4. Give Yourself Time - Getting ready and going places just takes longer in winter weather. Defrosting your vehicle, clearing the driveway or tending to a fallen branch takes time. Be your own best friend by getting ready earlier and planning for this. You'll be ready when its needed and early and happy when it's not!
Stay Warm!
