1. Map it out - create your plan of attack a
nd do yourself the favor of working out logistics before it's crunch time and your frantic. Remember dates, store runs, BUDGET, wardrobe changes, gifts, dishes, etc. That way you know what to prep for and how your time will flow.
2. Check it twice - reference it. Post in on the fridge or someone easily accessible, you may even have a couple happy helpers take some tasks for you!
3. Wrap & label - doing things ahead is great, but don't forget what you've done. Tag/label things right away. I like to have boxes that I've saved and have the designated for each occasion so I can put stuff in it when done and I'll be able to grab and go when the time comes.
4. Be realistic - don't put the pressure on or over analyze. It's a time of togetherness and not criticism. Second guessing only wastes time and your instincts and what you have to offer is you, which is who was invited. Avoid over spending and over-obligating.
5. It's the little things that count - listen to some season music, light a scented candle, bake with no time pressure, open some wine, invite a friend over for coffee. Do what ever it is you find relaxing that allows you to slow down and be present. Remember the little things matter; small friendly jesters, taking pictures, seeing old friends and catching up.
6. Enjoy! - the whole point of the entirety of your effort is to bring people together and celebrate the season.
Happy Holiday from your friends at American Workforce Group!
